Putnam county holds man with 11 grams of meth, 65 grams marijuana, on $128,000+ bond

22-year-old Alexander Mason Williams is held in lieu of a $128,600 bond in Cookeville, TN, after police charged him with possession of 65 grams of marijuana, 11 grams of methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia, including resale bags and smoking pipes.

PUTNAM COUNTY, TN: On Saturday, March 07, 2020, at approximately 2am, Algood Police Officer Joseph Harsh conducted a traffic stop on a red pickup truck for illegal window tint on Dry Valley Rd, in front of Algood Elementary School. Officer Harsh was speaking with the driver, Alexander Williams, when he saw drug paraphernalia in plain view which led to a search of the vehicle. This search yielded 11 grams of Methamphetamine (separated for resale), 65 grams of marijuana, $461 cash, and several items of drug paraphernalia including resale bags, scales, and smoking pipes.

Mr. Williams was charged with Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Driving on Revoked Driver’s License, Possession of Controlled Substance, Manufacture of Controlled Substance, Driving while in Possession of Methamphetamine, and Drug-free School Zone. Mr. Williams is currently being held in lieu of a $128,600 bond at the Putnam County Justice Center.
