Cookeville, TN – On Saturday, September 28, 2019, at 7:41 PM, officers of the Cookeville Police Department’s Traffic Enforcement Division responded to a vehicle crash involving a pedestrian at the intersection of North Willow Avenue and West Jere Whitson Street.
Sabastian Bartolome Miguel, 49 years old of Cookeville, was walking east on West Jere Whitson Street crossing North Willow Avenue when he was struck by a 1999 Ford F-150 pickup truck. The truck was driven by Matthew Blanchard, 56 years old also of Cookeville.
The truck was traveling north on North Willow Avenue when it struck Mr. Miguel. Sadly, Mr. Miguel died at the scene.
Matthew Blanchard was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and reckless endangerment. He was transported to the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office. His bond amount is unavailable at the time of this release.
